SUMMARY:MARAM intermediate training for mental health and wellbeing clinicians
DESCRIPTION:Course overview \n This MARAM intermediate training for mental health and wellbeing clinicians runs over two hours and was developed with the Centre for Mental Health Learning with input from Specialist Family Violence Advisors in area mental health and wellbeing services. \nThe training is designed for all mental health and wellbeing clinicians with intermediate MARAM responsibilities in any role within the mental health and wellbeing sector. \nDelivered by experienced trainers\, including trainers with mental health and wellbeing clinical skills and family violence MARAM expertise\, the training strengthens skills in recognising and responding to family violence\, supports clinicians to embed skills they already have\, increases their understanding of family violence\, and builds their confidence in undertaking their MARAM responsibilities. \nTraining content is based on MARAM evidence-based practice guidance\, and it aligns with the Chief Psychiatrists guideline and practice resource: family violence\, and Our workforce\, our future – a capability framework for Victoria’s mental health and wellbeing workforce capability seven – Understanding and responding to family violence. It highlights the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 gender safety principle and information sharing when it doesn’t put people at risk of experiencing family violence. It also looks at how a person’s mental health can be used against them as a tactic of family violence. \nIt is recommended that you complete the MARAM e-Learning modules prior to attending this training as required by your organisation: Training for the information sharing and MARAM reforms \nTo register please go to – https://training.cfecfw.asn.au/

SUMMARY:MARAM training for nominated staff in schools and early childhood services
DESCRIPTION:Course outline \nNew resources and training are available to help schools and early childhood services with the work they do to keep children and young people safe. The Information sharing schemes and the MARAM framework enable schools and services to share information to promote the wellbeing and safety of children and identify and respond to family violence. \nThe three interrelated reforms were established in April 2021. MARAM nominated staff are identified by school and service leaders and should have qualifications\, training\, experience\, or a role aligned with wellbeing\, such as wellbeing coordinators or leadership staff.  Training will support MARAM nominated staff to understand and action their school or service’s MARAM responsibilities for screening\, safety planning\, and making referrals and reports. \nThe training is based on the Department of Education’s Information Sharing and Family Violence Reforms: Guidance and Tools. \nPlease email training@cfecfw.asn.au with any training enquiries. \nTraining details \n\nTraining is a single\, 4-hour session that can be attended either online or in-person.\nOnline sessions will be held 1-2 times a week during school term time from October 2024 to June 2026.\nIn-person sessions will be held in several metropolitan and regional areas throughout Victoria from November 2024 to June 2026.\n\nTraining is free\, training hours count towards professional learning for Victorian Institute of Teaching registration\, and Casual Relief Teacher reimbursement is available. \nTo Register please go to DE MARAM \n
